Potty Training

Yes after reaching my summer goals (sleeping in a big bed and saying bye to pacifier), it is a time for potty training. I took my friend's advice and start with underwear instead of pull ups. In addition I bought seat for toilet. Hubus helped me choose of them. He loves his new tools!!!!

So far Hubus is doing great. He enjoys sitting on his seat which he calls a ball. Of course, he still has a few accidents, but it is 2nd day of training. Hope we will make progress.

Good Bye Pacifier

Yes, we did it. Hubus stopped having his first best friend, pacifier. He got his first pacifier in the hospital. I still have it in my memories box. I got this pacifier from my friend Katie; it was special for newborns. I love it.

Recently Hubus started biting the pacifiers. Hubus already threw a few of them in the garbage but always left one. But yesterday he decided to throw his the last one because there was a hole so it didn't work ( we are saying that in Polish it sound better). In addition, I started decreasing Hubus' time having pacifier during the day. We started from not letting our pacifier to go outside. We made his freeze on the table. Hubus was so cute doing this. Even sometimes he reminded to leave his pacifier inside when we were leaving the home.

Another summer goal is reached!!!! The biggest is left, potty training.

Old Movies

It is so amazing how Hubus is changing and growing up so fast. I remember last summer Hubus was learning how to crawl. In addition, he had OT and PT every week to make sure his hand is ok. He used to hold his right arm different than his left arm. Consequently, we decided to have therapies to fix it. It took him only 2 months. Everyone was shocked how fast he made the progress. Smart Boy!!!!

Now he can't stop running. He is everywhere. Piotrek says that he will be a baseball player.  Almost every day daddy speaks about registering him for baseball practice.  I just smile because I know it is so early but time is flying. Hubus is almost 2 years old.

Hubus first steps.

Hubus as a Baby

I feel that I have to write more about Hubus when he was little. I should start this blog sooner. But I believe it is never too late to start something good.

This is the movie which I made during my maternity leave. Enjoy watching.

October 31, 2009

On October 30, 2009 I felt that today is the day. In the morning I told Piotrek that we would have a baby today. He just said, "Ok" and didn't believe that it would happen because my date was a week later.I went to work as I was supposed to go. It was Friday and we had Halloween parade. In addition, my students had surprise baby shower for me. They made a books with their advice how to raise my baby. All day I felt contractions every 10 minutes but my friends from work said that if I can walk and teach it is not a "time". So I stayed at work and even wore my Halloween costume (doctor). But I was not able to come back to the classroom from the parade. My contractions got worse, so I called my doctor and he told me to go to the hospital. Unfortunately, I was not able to drive so my friend from work, Katrina, drove me there. She was great. Piotrek was waiting for me in the parking lot by the hospital. Both of us still didn't believe that it was happening; we would have a baby.

Hubus was born next day on October 31, 2009 (Halloween Baby) at 1:56am. He was the first baby born that day in the hospital. He was a big boy (7 lb 13 oz and 20 inches).

Little Boy in a Big Bed

My husband and I decided that it is a time to move Hubus to a bigger room. It is so hard to get him from his crib. He weights 28 lbs. Also, he needs more space for his toys and friends to play. In his new bedroom he has little table and two chairs to play/study and of course his first twin bed.

On Saturday Piotrek painted the room and next day he put furnitures together. Of course Hubus had to help him. I am still working on decorating and cleaning the room.

On the big evening of July 4 Hubus had so much fun finding animals on his sheet. Also, he loved to played kuku ( polish version of peekaboo) under his bedding with me and dad. It took us about 3 hours to fall asleep. Finally watching a Reksio (Polish cartoon that I watched when I was little) made Hubus close his beautiful eyes. Next morning he wake up and called mama as usually he does. Nice one of my summer goal was achieved. Few more to go (potty trained and bye bye to pacifier)

It is a Time

Reading my friends' posts about their children makes me being jealous and mad that I don't have the blog. I think it is a time to start writing about My Son's Big and Little Adventures. Blogging is great tool to keep records of our memories our sharing news with family members and friend.  I hope that one day Hubus will be grateful that I did this for him. I don't know yet if my posts are going be in Polish or English, or both. We will see, enjoy reading.
